  • This proposal may be accompanied by a short letter giving background of applicant, as appropriate to the membership
  • Payment to cover joining fee and first year’s subscription must be made before membership can become effective (See payment methods p4)
  • Annual renewal of subscriptions should be made by Direct Debit (see page 4), cheque or BACS transfer.

Details of categories

Full – includes member’s partner and children and is entitled to one vote per membership.

Senior – those who have achieved the age of 65 years. Includes member’s partner and children and is entitled to one vote per membership.

Social – those who do not have boats and who do not use the Club’s rowing boats. Includes member’s partner and children but does not have voting rights.

Overseas – those whose principal residence is outside the UK and shall not remain in the UK for longer than a total of 90 days in any relevant year. Includes member’s partner and children but does not have voting rights.

Direct Debit Instructions

Members who register for Direct Debit will have the option to pay the full amount 1st January or payments can be made monthly at a twelfth of the full annual amount.

You do not have to own a boat to become a member of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club. However, if you do own or use a water craft, the following information is very useful for our records.

Permit to fly the Defaced Blue Ensign

Under the terms of an Admiralty warrant, members of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club may, subject to eligibility criteria, obtain permits from the Hon. Secretary secretary@royal-welsh.com to fly the Defaced Blue Ensign. The application form is available for download on the club website.

The ensign 'defaced' with the Club's 'badge', a crown over the Prince of Wales' feathers may be purchased by contacting the Rear Commodore rearcommodore@royal-welsh.com
