RWYC Summer Cruise
This year it seems that the majority of Club members and boats that will be away on extended cruises intend to head South in search of good weather to Brittany via Cornwall and the Scillies setting off in the first settled spell of weather in May.
Some other members intend to head North to Scotland, if they are not already based there, some to perhaps meet with the rowers up in the Arisaig area in late June.
My plan for Aslan and her approx. 8 week cruise is to wait until shortly before the 23rd May and see what the weather looks like doing and then decide whether to head South or North – if South that could be either down to Pembrokeshire & on to Padstow & the Scillies or to cross over to the East coast of Ireland and then head down the coast in “day hops” with the hope of reaching at least as far as Bantry Bay. If I go North it will likely be to Northern Ireland via the Isle of Man and then on up to Islay & Jura with the hope of reaching Skye or even a brief foray to the Outer Hebrides.
Members who need to stick to shorter holidays will, of course, be welcome to join in for part of any of these cruises to suit their own schedules and timescales.
It would be useful to know other members plans and ideas so could I ask for members to put something brief on the RWYC Cruising WhatsApp Group so that those with similar plans can keep in touch.
Wherever you plan to head fingers crossed for fair winds and sunny skies!

Peel Seafest
24th - 25th July 2026
Many thanks to all that have registered, food will be provided on the Friday evening for boats that have registered for the event. We have music scheduled for both evenings, and hopefully during the day. John Eames will be providing entertainment both evenings, along with friends, as John was very popular at last year's event. Hope to see you all in July.
