Sailing
The Royal Welsh Yacht Club has a significant history of local and worldwide sailing. The Club was formed in 1847 to encourage sailing and racing in and around Caernarfon, on the Menai Strait.
Since the beginning of the 20th century members have sailed across the Atlantic and further afield.
Today the majority of sailing activity is concentrated on cruising from Caernarfon out into the waters of the Irish Sea, Scotland and Ireland.
As well as individual sailing we organise regular “Cruising in Company” sessions throughout the summer season.
Each year we take part in the Menai Strait Regattas; which involves local clubs racing in and around the Menai Strait.
Our membership is berthed throughout the world and all visiting sailors are warmly welcomed in the club.
